Some Non-Fiction Book Recommendations
I have read a few lovely non-fiction books lately. Each of these books provided me with much needed encouragement, but in different areas of life. A good non-fiction book just can’t be beat, and is sometimes just what the doctor ordered. So, I feel compelled to share them with you! (Click the titles for direct link to Amazon).
- The Reading Life by CS Lewis. This book is a delightful compilation of all of Lewis’ quotes/writings concerning books, reading, and the literary life. A quick and uplifting read that is perfect for any and every book lover.
- Art and the Bible by Francis Schaeffer. “The lordship of Christ should include an interest in the arts,” writes Francis Schaeffer. “A Christian should use these arts to the glory of God, not just as tracts, mind you, but as things of beauty to the praise of God.” This book explores art in relation to the Bible and Christianity. A must read for anyone with an interest in art.
- The Lifegiving Home by Sally Clarkson. This book basically answers the question: How do I make my house into a home? Home is supposed to be our safe place – the place we and our families go to feel at rest. But how do we accomplish this? Sally Clarkson has so many amazing tips and ideas for how to make your home more home-like. Absolutely essential reading for everyone.
