Rivendell Study Bookplate

Lend your books with confidence by using beautiful bookplates. What are bookplates, you ask? (And is it all right to put stickers in your books?!)

The bookplate, also known as ex-librīs (Latin for “from the books (or library)”), is a small decorative label adhered into a book, often on the front endpaper, to indicate ownership. It’s history can be traced back centuries! Bookplates are an important part of the history of books, first appearing in the 1500s by barons and nobles to protect personal property from theft. They are a great (and fun!) way to mark your personal library.

This is a set of four self-adhesive bookplates featuring my original artwork, printed on acid-free matte paper with archival inks. There is a blank area to pen your name in with ink. Please let the ink dry before placing in your book!

Bookplates are generally placed on the inside of the cover or on the first blank page in the book, about mid-way down the page.

DETAILS:
-Set of four of the same design
-4.5×3.5 inches
-matte sticker paper for ease of writing
