NEW A Sweet Sequels Exclusive Book of Poetry: Winter

WINTER: Poems and Paintings

Coming to the shop on Wednesday, November 10th at 10am cst

.

I’ve been reading a lot of poetry lately: When a new season arrives, I love reading poems that draw out the beauty in the changing landscape. One night as I was reading a wintry Emily Bronte poem, I got the urge to create a volume of poetry specifically for the purpose of commemorating the season. So I set out in search of all the wintry poems I could find.

This little book contains poems celebrating the cold season, as well as a collection of my wintry paintings. It’s a pocket-size hardcover book, in full color. And if you’re wondering – yes, I’ll be making one for each season!

I’ve pre-ordered a batch of these so that I will have some ready in time for Christmas (they’re not here yet; they should ship in 2-3 weeks), but it is a limited quantity. Once the initial batch sells out, they will be backordered and may take several additional weeks to ship out.

CHRISTMAS SHIPPING INFO FOR BOOKS:
When placing an order for one of my exclusive edition books (Illustrated or Out of Print), please take note of whether the book is Pre-Order (this will be indicated on the listing information) or backordered (this information can be found once the item has been placed in your cart). Pre-ordered and backordered books are books that I do not currently have in stock in my home studio, and will take significantly longer to ship than in-stock items (normally around 3 weeks).
.
When ordering books from my shop for Christmas, I highly recommend selecting PRIORITY SHIPPING, as USPS has been experiencing significant delays already, especially with media mail. If you select my base USPS shipping option, the parcel will ship at the cheapest rate, which is usually Media Mail (unless the book weighs under one pound, which is rare). If you select Priority Shipping for book orders, there will be a better chance that your orders arrive quickly and do not get delayed/lost in transit.
.
I am hesitant to make any promises regarding Christmas delivery this year. We are seeing unprecedented issues both in mail carrier services and the supply chain – so there are a lot of unknowns in terms of what I will be able do this holiday season. The best bet is to get most if not all of your Sweet Sequels holiday shopping done in November. I will be having a ready-to-ship blanket drop at the end of this month, as well as a great Black Friday Weekend Sale.
Please let me know if you have any questions regarding holiday ordering. I am always happy to help!

Here is one of my favorite poems from Winter: Poems and Paintings

When Christmas Comes
by Virna Sheard
.
For thee, my small one – trinkets and new toys,
The wine of life and all its keenest joys,
When Christmas comes.
For me, the broken playthings of the past
That in my folded hands I still hold fast,
When Christmas comes.
For thee, fair hopes of all that yet may be,
And tender dreams of sweetest mystery,
When Christmas comes. For thee, the future in a golden haze,
For me, the memory of some bygone days,
When Christmas comes.
For thee, the things that lightly come and go,
For thee, the holly and the mistletoe,
When Christmas comes.
For me, the smiles that are akin to tears,
For me, the frost and snows of many years,
When Christmas comes.
For thee, the twinkling candles bright and gay,
For me, the purple shadows and the grey,
When Christmas comes.
For thee, the friends that greet thee at the door,
For me, the faces I shall see no more,
When Christmas comes.
But ah, for both of us the mystic star
That leadeth back to Bethlehem afar,
When Christmas comes.
For both of us the child they saw of old,
That evermore his mother’s arms enfold,
When Christmas comes.
