My Newest Illustrated Classic: Anne of Green Gables by LM Montgomery
I am so excited to announce my newest illustrated book Anne of Green Gables by LM Montgomery, available for pre-order on September 1st.
This has been, by far, my most requested book for illustrating. Fun fact: I didn’t read Anne of Green Gables when I was a child. In fact, I didn’t know about her at all. It wasn’t until a few years ago that I first ventured into Avonlea, was swept away by the beauty of the Lake of Shining Waters and the intrigue of the Dryad’s Bubble. In that first reading, I saw the world through Anne’s eyes – what an imaginative, positive, thought-provoking little creature – and my world was better for it.
I am so glad that I was able to illustrate this book, just in time for the cozy season, Fall.
This beautiful hardcover edition features original cover art and several full color illustrations on the inner pages. It is complete and unabridged. The book will be available exclusively on my website, and will open for pre-order starting on September 1st at 10am CST. All pre-ordered books will receive a free bookplate.
From the back:
“’Dear old world,’ she murmured, ‘You are very lovely, and I am glad to be alive in you…’”
Nestled in the lush, rolling hills of Prince Edward Island is Green Gables, the cozy farmstead home of aging siblings Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert. When Matthew and Marilla decide to adopt an orphan boy to help out with chores, they are shocked and dismayed to realize they’d been sent a little girl – a lively, talkative, imaginative, freckled, red-haired little girl named Anne (with an “e”) Shirley. The lives of the Cuthberts are forever changed as they – rather reluctantly – let Anne into their hearts.
This charming coming-of-age story has captured hearts since it was published in 1908. This edition has been lovingly brought to life with original illustrations by Haleigh DeRocher.
